📰 News we're reading

• Bill reemerges to allow cardrooms without live racing at Tampa Bay Downs (wusf.org) — A Palm Harbor-based state representative, Adam Anderson, has refiled a bill that could let Tampa Bay Downs keep its cardroom without running live horse races. The proposal, set for the 2026 legislative session, would allow both Tampa Bay Downs and Gulfstream Park to eventually stop racing while continuing other gambling operations, reviving a debate that drew strong opposition from horse-breeding interests earlier this year.
