Red Wing Shoes to Celebrate Grand Opening in Palm Harbor This Weekend

There's a new option in Palm Harbor when it comes to shopping for shoes and boots for work, hunting and hiking.

A Red Wing Shoes store opened recently at 35959 U.S. 19 in Palm Harbor and is already enjoying brisk business. The day Patch visited there were numerous customers in the store getting fitted for work footwear.

Red Wing Shoes specializes in work shoes and slip resistant footwear. It offers a wide variety of styles for men and women, from athletic shoes to hiking boots, oxfords, steel-toed boots, waterproof shoes, dress shoes and more. 

The shoes and boots are purpose-built, depending on the job environment they'll be used for, says Larry Kennedy, who owns the store with his wife, Mary.

"For more than a century the Red Wing Shoe company has built a reputation for making tough, comfortable footwear for hard-working people," said Kennedy.

Red Wing Shoes will be celebrating its grand opening in Palm Harbor on Saturday, Feb. 16 and Sunday, Feb. 17.

• The first 50 people in the store on these days will get a free T-shirt or hat.
• 99.5 WQYK will broadcast live from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday. 
• Joel and Dakota will perform live from 1:30-3:30 p.m. on Sunday
• The store will also have a grand opening sale.
