Florida Highway Patrol investigators say a surveillance camera outside the entrance of a gated Palm Harbor home recorded a man who hit the gate with his SUV and then left.

Jeremy Allan Bogie, 25, of Palm Harbor, was arrested and charged with violation of parole and leaving the scene of a crash.

Bogie later returned to the home in a vehicle driven by his mother. At that time, an FHP officer was at the home responding to a 911 call about the alleged hit and run involving the gate.

The FHP officer said when Bogie arrived at the home, he was unsteady on his feet and had a strong odor of alcohol on his breath. Bogie allegedly told the officer that he had been drinking too much that night and he did not remember hitting a gate.

FHP officers arrested Bogie after viewing video from the home's surveillance camera.

Bogie's address is listed on the FHP report as 4708 Pleasant Ave., which is where the incident occurred. The 911 call was made by another resident at that address.

There is a sign that says "rental home" on a fence surrounding the property.
