1. Herald-Tribune employees are awaiting their fate as Halifax Media Holdings will notify in less than 48 hours if employees will be offered a job at the paper with the new company. The , New York Times Company announced Tuesday.
2. We’re awaiting word whether the Sarasota Sears or Kmarts could close after Sears Holding announced Tuesday that it plans to close 100 to 120 stores. The list of closed stores have not been released yet.
3. Missed some news over the holiday break? Tune in to 96.5 WSLR-FM at 6 p.m. tonight for the Jumping Mullet Report to receive a wrap up of the news by Sarasota Patch’s Assitant Editor . 4. Check out some fine classical music performed by college students at the USF Sarasota-Manatee Perlman Music Program Winter Residency. It lasts through Jan. 6 and plays at various venues in the area. E-tickets can be reserved for $5 otherwise it’s first-come, first-serve for free tickets. A celebration concert will be at the Sarasota Opera House on Jan. 7 where tickets range from $35 to $75 and can be reserved at perlmanmusicprogramsuncoast.org.
