1. The massive Goodwill proposed for North Trail will see an appeal hearing on Dec. 12 instead of being pushed into the next year, to accommodate the store's planning schedule. The current lease ends on Dec. 31, 2012, and the store had hoped to be moved into its new space before then.
2. Payne Park will celebrate Sarasota's circus heritage with a large circus-themed playground. More than 300 kids can play at the playground at the same time, and in addition to the slides, tubes and swings, there will be musical features and a misting ring.
3. Sarasota County is working to get Bus Rapid Transit to become a reality, but it's coming up $7 million short to make it happen. One proposal? A transit sales tax.

4. Stop by the Robert Taylor Community Center at 6 p.m. to hear how USF Sarasota-Manatee would revitalize key Newtown and North Sarasota properties including the Marian Anderson brownfields site, Starlight Drive-in and three other properties.
5. Sarasota police arrested , just hours apart from each other. Police recovered the stolen safe, clothes, laptops and XBOX 360 during their investigation.
