A 'Thinking of You' Card for Boston Bombing Suspect
Two Sarasota radio hosts and their listeners are sending the oversized card to Dzhokhar Tsarnaev in his Boston hospital room to let them know what they think about him, and about America.
The surviving suspect in the Boston Marathon bombing is getting a "thinking of you" card from some of the people of Sarasota.
The hosts of a local radio show are sending the over-sized, 3-foot-by-4-foot card to Dzhokhar Tsarnaev as he recovers from his injures at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston. It's signed by about 50 to 75 listeners of "The Wrecking Crew," which airs on WTMY 1280, who weren't shy about sending a message to the 19-year-old suspect.
"We did it on a farce, but it turned out to be really cathartic for people," said co-host Sherman Baldwin.

"They were allowed to say whatever they want," added co-host Evan Bacallao. "Just nothing about Chechnya and nothing about Muslims or Islam. It's only about two specific people."
The messages written inside the card include pro-USA slogans and plenty of obscenities. The printed text inside reads "Get Well Soon ... (Love to pick your brain)." On the back, someone wrote out the poem "The New Colossus" by Emma Lazarus, which adorns the Statue of Liberty.

The front of the card says "Thinking of You" and includes an image the co-hosts found online showing a patriotic chalk drawing on the streets of Boston that incorporates a blood stain, reportedly that of the other slain suspect, Tamerlan Tsarnaev.
The two men said they planned to ship the card to Tsarnaev in the hospital via FedEx on Wednesday night, although they were considering traveling to Boston and delivering it in person.
Do they think he'll actually read it?
"To me, that doesn't matter," Baldwin said. "It's like when a psychologist tells you to write a letter to your dead uncle and put it on his grave. It's not for them, it's to help us."
