SARASOTA, FL — A pig disappeared from Crowley Museum & Nature Center in Sarasota during Hurricane Idalia.

The missing swine, named Pigpig, “is a beloved member of our critter crew,” Crowley wrote in a Facebook post, adding that the animal is “out on an adventure.”

“He’s such a smart boy. But with the storm and all of that, he slipped out,” Dixie Resnick, CEO, told Patch.

Pigpig is a full-grown adopted Piney rooter, the museum said. He is castrated but still has his tusks.

He’s friendly with people he knows, but otherwise is shy. He also has an orange ear tag.
