The man was seen on surveillance video picking up a wallet that another man had left on the counter inside a gas station, according to the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office.
The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a man who they say is seen on video picking up a wallet that didn't belong to him inside a Sarasota gas station.
According to deputies, the victim left his wallet on the counter at the BP gas station, 4949 S. Tamiami Trail, the night of April 11. Then, they say, another man entered the store, bought a soda and put the victim's wallet in his pocket before walking out.
The victim returned to look for the missing wallet, but after he couldn't find it, the store owner reviewed the surveillance video and figured out what happened, deputies say.
