Mattison’s City Grille Opens Airport Eatery

Mattison’s opened a new eatery at the Sarasota Bradenton International Airport.

Concourse B welcomed Mattison’s City Grille on Monday, the Sarasota Herald-Tribune reported. It joins other local brands, including Anna Maria Oyster Bar and Patricks 1481.

The airport restaurant offers Mattison’s favorites, including rosemary honey-glazed salmon, a coconut lime curry bowl and its signature cheeseburger, as well as a breakfast menu for those flying out early from the airport.

Local sports bar Ed’s Tavern will open its third location in Manatee County.

The new restaurant will be located in the Gateway Commons shopping center in Parrish off Buffalo Road, near Moccasin Wallow Road and Interstate 75, the Bradenton Herald said.

The planned 5,500-square-foot location will be the largest of the three locations — the other two are off Lakewood Ranch’s Main Street and off State Road 64 East in Bradenton. It will have a private party and event room with a sports simulator.

Kona Grill Closes

Denver-based chain Kona Grill closed its location at the University Town Center, according to the Sarasota Herald-Tribune.

The UTC Kona Grill first opened its doors in 2014.

The chain offers a menu of steak and seafood options.

Atlanta-Based Bakery Expands into Florida

An Atlanta-based bakery expanded into Florida with a new location in Bradenton.

Sweet Hut Bakery & Cafe opened in the Orange Blossom shopping plaza at 419 Cortez Road W., the Bradenton Herald reported.

The menu offers Asian pastries, buns, cakes, sandwiches, burgers, and coffees and teas.

French Restaurant Closes on Siesta Key

After more than a decade, a Siesta Key French restaurant has shut its doors.

Bonjour French Café at 5214 Ocean Blvd. initially opened in 2012.

“The place always tried to bring a part of France here in Siesta Key with French cuisine, fresh local products, and family ambiance and atmosphere,” the owners wrote in a Facebook post. “All the employees are so proud to have served such lovely guests as you. It is a sad situation for all of us but you will stay in our minds.
