Sarasota Homicide Victim ID’d

Sarasota Police have ruled the Monday death of a 31-year-old man a homicide.

SARASOTA, FL — A suspicious death investigation that kicked off in Sarasota on Monday night following the discovery of a 31-year-old man’s body has turned into a search for a homicide suspect.

The agency announced on Thursday that the death of Travis Combs has been ruled a homicide. Combs' body was found near the intersection of 22nd Street and Palmadelia Avenue on Aug. 28. Police say there is no information that would indicate a threat to the public.

The agency is not releasing further details in the case, including the cause of death. Authorities are asking, however, that anyone with information about Combs’ death call Det. Kim Laster at 941-364-7327.
