SARASOTA, FL — The Sarasota Police Department has temporarily suspended public access to the agency's lobby and records department as part of efforts to slow the spread of the new coronavirus.

Sarasota Police Chief Bernadette DiPino said the temporary closures will not affect police services in the community.

“The men and women of the Sarasota Police Department will not stop serving our community during COVID-19,” DiPino said. “We’re still serving and protecting our community 24 hours a day, seven days a week, while making sure we’re taking all the necessary protocols and following the guidance of the CDC and Florida Department of Health."
