Shooter Dead After Killing 3 Women, Including Mother: Manatee Sheriff
The suspect was shot and killed by deputies in Hamilton County as he drove from FL to Georgia intending to kill another victim, MCSO said.
BRADENTON, FL — The shooter is dead after killing three women in Manatee County Monday night, authorities said.
Deputies responded to a shooting at the Motel 6 at 660 67th Street Circle E. in Bradenton around 9:15 p.m., according to a Manatee County Sheriff’s Office news release. They found a 48-year-old woman dead from a gunshot wound.
Witnesses told investigators that Javontee Brice, 28, went to the motel and shot his mother for unknown reasons before leaving the area, possibly heading to Georgia.

Around 9:40 p.m., deputies responded to another shooting in the 900 block of 26th Street Court E. in Palmetto, where they found a 29-year-old woman had been shot while sitting inside a parked SUV, the sheriff’s office said.
As deputies arrived, Palmetto police tried to save the victim, but she died about an hour later. Witnesses identified Brice as the shooter.

While investigating those shootings, deputies learned of another that happened just after 10 p.m. on 55th Street W. in Bradenton. Bradenton police officers also responded to the scene.
Investigators learned that Brice shot a woman, who later died at a local hospital, before leaving the area, the sheriff’s office said.
Detectives learned that he was traveling Georgia with the intent to kill another person.
After the agency issued a statewide “be on the lookout for” alert for Brice’s vehicle, multiple law enforcement agencies helped track him to Hamilton County, near the state line, MCSO said.
He was shot and killed around 1:30 a.m., after he fired shots at Hamilton County deputies.
The shootings remain under investigation.
