Watch: Florida Man Caught Peeping Up Woman’s Skirt at Walmart

A 62-year-old Sarasota man is in hot water after deputies say video shows him looking up women's skirts in a local Walmart.

SARASOTA, FL — A Sarasota man’s alleged decision to take a break from shopping at a local Walmart to have a gander, or three, up a woman's skirt didn't end so well for him.

It seems the 62-year-old wasn’t quite aware his every move was caught on Walmart's surveillance video. It’s also likely he didn't realize the credit card he used to complete an eventual purchase would make it fairly easy for Sarasota County detectives to identify him as the suspect in the case and track him down.

The incident that led to New Jersey native Alan E. Ralph’s Monday arrest began to unfold at the 4381 Cattlemen Road Walmart store on Oct. 3. The victim in the case told deputies a man knelt down beside her and looked up her skirt while she was shopping. A video released of the incident shows a man kneeling down, looking up the skirt and then backing away. The man returned a moment later for a second glance.

The victim, it seems, decided to let that first encounter slide. An arrest report, however, says the woman ran into the very same man a second time on Oct. 29. That time around, the peeping allegedly occurred in the sporting goods aisle of the Cattlemen Road Walmart.

After that third peep, the woman reportedly had had enough and contacted the sheriff’s office. Detectives launched an investigation and were able to pull surveillance video they say proves the woman’s claims.

Ralph was tracked down as the suspect in the case thanks to the J.P. Morgan Chase card he used to make purchases at the Walmart store, the arrest report noted. He was arrested and charged with three counts of voyeurism on Monday, Dec. 5. Ralph remained in the Sarasota County Jail Tuesday without bond, jail records indicate. His arraignment is set for Dec. 27.

Detectives say there are likely more victims in the case. The video pulled from the store, "showed the suspect victimizing several other women by kneeling down and looking up their skirts," the sheriff's office noted in a media release.

Anyone with information in the case is asked to call the agency’s criminal investigations section at 941-861-4317. Other potential victims who wish to come forward are also asked to call that number to speak with investigators.
