1 Injured After St. Pete Man Shoots Car With Child Inside: Report

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — A St. Petersburg man is facing several felony charges after police said he opened fire on his roommate and a parked car with a child inside recently.

According to WFLA-TV, Jourdan Lamar Chance, 27, of St. Petersburg got into an argument with his roommate Thursday. When the roommate walked outside the home, Chance opened fire.

Some of the bullets struck a parked car with a child in the backseat, the TV station reported.

According to the affidavit, Chance admitted to knowing the child was inside the car when he fired his gun; however, the child was not injured.

The roommate was hit in the leg, authorities said.

Chance has been charged with attempted murder, shooting into a vehicle and aggravated child abuse.

Records show he was released from the Pinellas County Jail on Sunday afternoon.
