13 Injured In PSTA Bus Versus Car Crash

Motorists are being asked to steer clear of a portion of Central Avenue following a Tuesday evening crash involving a PSTA bus.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — An estimated 13 people were taken to the hospital following a Tuesday evening crash involving a PSTA bus and a Honda Civic.

According to the St. Petersburg Police Department, the collision occurred around 6:40 p.m. July 11 on Central Avenue at 48th Street.

“No one was seriously injured, but more than a dozen people, including the Honda driver, were transported to three different hospitals,” the police department wrote in an email to media.

The number of people injured is subject to change pending confirmation from the three hospitals, the agency noted.

Central Avenue in the area where the crash occurred is expected to remain closed until the agency completes its investigation.
