21-Gun Salute, Funeral Services Planned For St. Pete Officer
The family of the late Officer Michael Weiskopf are allowing only those on the guest list to attend. The service will be live-streamed.

ST. PETERSBBURG, FL — Funeral services for St. Petersburg Officer Michael Weiskopf are scheduled Tuesday, Aug. 31 at The Coliseum.
Due to concerns with COVID-19, the services inside are only open to media and a very limited group of people on a guest list. Anyone inside the Coliseum, 535 4th Avenue North, is required to wear a mask. The service inside should last about an hour. Then the coffin and family will proceed out to the parking lot. In the parking lot, St. Petersburg Police Department will have; the Presentation of Colors by the Honor Guard, 21-gun salute, Taps, rider-less horse, presentation of the flag to family, "Amazing Grace", and Last Call.
St. Pete Police Department will provide a livestream of the services on its Facebook page.

Fourth Avenue North will be closed between Eighth Street North and Fifth Street North from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Drivers who normally use Fourth Avenue North are encouraged to find alternate routes.
Weiskopf passed away Friday morning at a local hospital due to complications from COVID-19.

Officer Weiskopf's widow wants to do everything she can to encourage vaccination for COVID -19. As a result, the Pinellas County Health Department will provide vaccines in a tent in the parking lot of The Coliseum from 9 a.m. to noon.
There will be no public graveside service.
