1. Rays vs. Yankees

The Tampa Bay Rays are back in town this weekend to take on American League East Division rivals that New York Yankees. Friday's game begins at 7:10 p.m., Saturday's game at 4:10 p.m. and Sunday's game at 1:40 p.m. The brief five-game home stand also brings the Miami Marlins to town Monday and Tuesday. 2. Last weekend of 'The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee'

This weekend is your last chance to catch American Stage Theater's presentation of 'The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee' in Demens Landing for its annual theater in the park. "Six young people in the throes of puberty, overseen by grown-ups who barely managed to escape childhood themselves, learn that winning isn't everything and that losing doesn't necessarily make you a loser. The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee is a hilarious tale of overachievers' angst chronicling the experience of six adolescent outsiders vying for the spelling championship of a lifetime." Tickets start at $13 and can be purchased online

3. Last Weekend of the Pier

This Memorial Day weekend marks the last weekend you'll ever be able to visit the St. Petersburg Pier. St. Pete's iconic downtown structure is going out in style to make way for a new pier. Saturday's entertainment starts at noon and will feature jugglers, face painters, balloon animal artists. There will be live music from 1 p.m. - midnight. Sunday will feature the final Music Fest by the Bay. Memorial Day will feature music from 1-10 p.m. from various artists. Giving Tree Music will provide a Drum Circle from 5-7 p.m. The Tampa Bay Water Ski Show Team will perform two water ski shows, one at noon and the other at 2 p.m. Monday. At 9:45 p.m. Monday, there will be fireworks over Tampa bay, culminating with confetti cannons over the crowds. 

4. Help Clean Up the Lincoln Cemetery

Ladies from the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 14 will be sprucing up the historic Lincoln Cemetery, 600 58th St. S., on Saturday, May 25 at 9 a.m.  In honor of Memorial Day, they will be there with trash bags, clippers and American flags to tidy up the grounds and place an American flag at each of the Veteran's grave sites. Located on the edge of St. Petersburg and the city of Gulfport, the Lincoln Cemetery is the final resting place for generations of African Americans -- among them Civil War veterans, community leaders and ordinary citizens, according to a news release.

5. 97X Backyard BBQ

The popular rock radio station is putting on its free annual 97x Backyard BBQ from noon - 10 p.m. Saturday in downtown St. Petersburg at the Vinoy Park. This year's music lineup is Coheed and Cambria, Twenty One Pilots, New Politics, The Features, The Virginmarys and the Unlikely Candidates. Tickets can be picked up for free at various locations throughout Tampa Bay. For a list of locations, click here
