Middle East Women's Symposium at USF St. Petersburg

As part of International Week at the University of South Florida St. Petersburg, a dozen women leaders from throughout the Middle East will gather for a symposium on the role of women in the U.S.

Sponsored in collaboration with The International Council of the Tampa Bay area, the symposium will include a panel of women leaders from the Tampa Bay area who will discuss the women’s movement in the U.S. and the scope of American women's involvement in business, law, political parties, unions, education, health care and volunteerism.

The visiting women will include elected officials, community leaders, educators, journalists and human rights leaders from Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Morocco, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia and the Palestinian Territories.

The symposium will be Wednesday, March 21 from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. on the campus of USFSP in Harbor Hall Gallery (formerly the Dali Museum), 1000 3rd St. S, St. Petersburg.

The International Council of the Tampa Bay Region (www.ic-tbr.org) is  the official U.S. Department of State partner for hosting global leaders under the Department’s International Visitor Leadership Program in the seven-county  Tampa Bay area.
