Wondering what to do on a summer mid-week evening? Join St. Petersburg Preservation for a relaxing downtown stroll, learn a bit of history and architecture, all followed by a chance to cool down and hear live music at the Ale & Witch, the craft beer emporium that has brought the Plaza courtyard across the street from Baywalk back to life.
St. Petersburg Preservation starts its summer evening historic walking tour series with "Twilight on the Town" historic walking.
- When: Wednesday, May 23
- Time: 7 pm (tour lasts approximately 90 minutes)
- Location: Tour starts in front of Central Cafe & Organics, 243 Central Ave. (next to the historic Detroit Hotel). Tour ends in the courtyard at the Ale & Witch (111 2nd Ave. NE).
Those joining the tour will get a chance to see some of the best of downtown's 1920's boom era architecture, find out how a small town at the turn of the century created one of the largest waterfront parks in the country and hear stories about how sunshine, bathing beauties and sports were used to market St. Pete as a place to go! All are welcome.
