Two Road Resurfacing Programs Start

Motorists will see slight traffic delays in downtown St. Petersburg as work on two road resurfacing projects commences next week.

  1. On Monday, traffic on 10th St. S. between First and Fourth Aves. S. will be reduced to one lane from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  2. Also on July 23, motorists will see traffic on Third Ave. S. from Third St. to 10th St. S. reduced to one lane from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. The Third Ave. S. project is expected to last through Friday, July 27. A minimum of one lane of traffic will remain open at all times during either project.

Both projects are part of the city's annual road maintenance plan, which will cost the city $3.8 million this year.

Traffic along 54th Ave. S. remains restricted to one outer lane in both directions from 19th Way and 16th Court S. as crews repair a sewer line. Construction is expected to wrap up at the end of July.

Motorists are cautioned to be alert and slow down as they travel through construction zones.
