Best Thing I Ate This Week: Cafe Bohemia’s Farmer Sandwich

Cafe Bohemia is a popular spot on Central Avenue for sipping coffee and socializing with other locals.

Although I’ve lived in the 'burg my entire life, I just started frequenting the little place. I had no idea this casual spot offered such a wide selection of food on its menu.

I wrongly assumed it was just muffins, quiche and brownies, like most coffee or tea places.

Pleasantly surprised, I decided to grab lunch there a few days ago. I ordered one of the hot selections, called “The Farmer.”

Sandwiched between two slices of whole wheat bread are lettuce, tomato, avocado, vegan bacon, and veganaise. The choice of a side item included a salad, pita chips, potato salad or vegan slaw. I went with the potato salad. It was soaked in vinegar and garlic, with chopped onions to boot.

Needless to say, the dish was well worth the $7.90.
