Bicyclist Seriously Injured In Ulmerton Road Crash: FL Highway Patrol

A Largo woman on a bicycle was seriously injured after being hit by a car changing lanes on Ulmerton Road, FL Highway Patrol said.

LARGO, FL — A bicyclist was seriously injured Monday afternoon after being hit by a car changing lanes on Ulmerton Road, according to a Florida Highway Patrol news release.

The crash happened just before 3 p.m. east of the Gateway Expressway.

The driver, a 21-year-old Miami Gardens woman, was heading west on Ulmerton Road when she changed lanes and hit the bicyclist, a 51-year-old Largo woman who was traveling east in the westbound bicycle lane, FHP said.

The bicyclist was brought to an area hospital with serious injuries.

The car’s driver and her passenger, a 59-year-old Largo woman, weren’t injured in the crash.
