Bicyclst Hit by Two Vehicles Dies
Police say the bicycle rider failed to yield to traffic and was hit by two different vehicles operated by St. Pete drivers.

An 18-yer-old bicylist who failed to yield to traffic in Pinellas Park died Saturday after being struck by two vehicles, police said.
Albert Ketchum, 18, was attempting to cross 66th Street at the intersection of 68th Avenue in Pinellas Park, when he failed to yield to traffic. His bicycle was struck by a 2000 Ford Expedition driven by 36-year-old Jarrod Slate of St. Petersburg.
The impact spun the bicycle into the curb lane, and Kethcum was struck again – this time by a 2002 Chevrolet Impala driven by Samantha Stine, 22, of St. Petersburg.

Kethcum was transported by ambulance to Bayfront Medical Center and was
pronounced deceased upon arrival at the hospital. No one else was injured in
the crash.
Alcohol does not appear to be a factor, and the crash remains under
investigation, according to Pinellas Park Police.
