Boy, 12, Dies After Accidentally Shooting Self: St. Pete Police
Investigators are trying to figure out how the 12-year-old boy got the gun he accidentally shot himself with, St. Pete police said.
ST. PETERSBURG, FL — A 12-year-old-boy died after accidentally shooting himself at James Park Apartments, 1050 3rd Ave. N., Monday evening, St. Petersburg police said.
Officers found the child, Jeremiah D. Nelson, in the apartment with a gunshot wound just before 6:30 p.m.
He was brought to All Children’s Hospital with critical injuries and later died.
