FL Boy, 14, Charged With Murder In Fatal Shooting Of 13-Year-Old, Police Say
A 14-year-old boy shot and killed another teenager who was recording him on a cell phone, St. Pete police said.
ST. PETERSBURG, FL — A 14-year-old boy was charged with second-degree murder in the fatal shooting of another teenage boy on Saturday night, according to a St. Petersburg police news release.
Police initially investigated the death of 13-year-old Jaden Hill of Largo on 11th Street South as a drive-by shooting.
Though police named the suspect, it’s Patch policy not to name minors accused of a crime unless they’ve been charged as an adult. It’s unknown whether he has been charged as a juvenile or an adult.

Investigators learned that the suspect pointed a gun at Hill, who was recording him on a cell phone, while they sat in a vehicle in the driveway just after 11 p.m.
The teen fired the gun, shooting Hill, police said.

The victim was brought to a nearby hospital, where he later died, with life-threatening injuries.
Detectives are still working to determine where the gun came from and whether it was stolen.
