The cell phone bandits stole dozens of the devices from St. Petersburg's downtown entertainment district, investigators said.
ST. PETERSBURG, FL — Cell phone bandits have apparently nabbed dozens of the devices from unsuspecting patrons visiting local bars in St. Petersburg.
According to WFLA-TV, St. Petersburg police reported 31 thefts between Feb. 5 and Feb. 27 from The Crafty Squirrel, Pour Judgement, 260 First, Mandarin Hide and The Estate.
Detectives believe the thieves, in most cases, bumped into the victims in crowded venues and stole their phones — and in some cases, their cash, too, police told the TV station.
