Chill Out in St. Pete This Weekend
A 'Party on the Plaza' plus the Fourth Annual 'Chillounge Night' make their way to the 'burg for two evenings of outdoor festivities.
‘Tis the season to be in the 'burg – you get the picture. November and December bring forth a multitude of happenings for locals.
It all starts this weekend with two outdoor events – one at the Mahaffey Theater’s Plaza and the other at Straub Park. Music and drinks will be flowing while fireworks light up the sky.
Feel the crisp breeze of fall and soak up some of St. Pete’s biggest parties of the year.

- Friday, Nov. 18, at 400 1st Street South
On Friday night, enjoy a “Party on the Plaza” immediately following Don Henley’s performance at the Mahaffey Theater. The fun starts at 9:30 p.m. on the grassy area just outside the theater, also known as “The Plaza.”
From the creators of Chillounge Night comes this opportunity to dance, drink and be merry. “Party on the Plaza” is free and open to the public. DJ Fresh will be mixing live for your listening pleasure, and remember to bring your wallet, since it’s a cash only bar.
- Saturday, Nov. 19, Straub Park (on Beach Drive between 1st and 5th Avenue North)
Bert Smith’s Fourth Annual “Chillounge Night” will be going down on Saturday night, starting at 6. In the past, “Chillounge Night” has been noted as one of the most unusual events in the area. Cabanas, tables and chairs are scattered throughout Straub Park for guests to enjoy live music, roving waiters with trays of drinks and appetizers, live music and the sights of the season.

General Admission: $20 in advance, $25 at the door
VIP Tickets: SOLD OUT
A Glimpse of what to expect: 50 lounge areas to choose from, a Brazilian Samba parade, fashion show by Brandi Kamenar of Icon B, live music and dining under the stars.
Your best bet for parking is probably Baywalk Parking Garage, located at 153 2nd Avenue North. Street parking and lots for a fixed price are scattered in the area surrounding Straub Park.
