Christmas Eve Shooting: 2 Injured Following Dispute
Two people were injured when shots rang out following a Christmas Eve dispute along Russell Street South.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — The St. Petersburg Police Department is investigating a Christmas Eve shooting that sent two people to the hospital.
According to the agency, officers responded to a home in the 1600 block of Russell Street South shortly before 9 p.m. Dec. 24. Officers say two unknown men became involved in a dispute with people gathered at the home. As the men were leaving, they are accused of firing shots into a group of people outside the home.
A man and woman were struck in the gunfire, the police department wrote in an email to media. Both people were taken to a local hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. They have both since been released.

Police have not released the names of the victims. They also have not released further information about the suspects.
The investigation remains open. It is unclear what the dispute was about.
