Dog Injured After Woman, 87, Drives Through FL Home
A St. Pete woman, 87, accidentally hit the gas pedal while trying to stop her car in a Largo church parking lot and hit a home, FHP said.

LARGO, FL — A dog was injured after an 87-year-old St. Petersburg woman drove into a Largo home on Monday afternoon, according to a Florida Highway Patrol news release.
She was heading east across the parking lot of Oak Ridge Wesleyan Church at 11000 110th Ave. N at the time of the crash, just after 2 p.m.
She meant to stop her car in the lot but accidentally hit the gas pedal and drove across the street, crashing into a home on 110th Avenue N., FHP said.

The driver, who suffered non-life-threatening injuries, was treated at an area hospital.

One resident who was home during the crash was uninjured.
A dog at the home was brought to a local veterinarian with injuries, FHP said.
