DUI Driver Hit Man Working On Grand Prix Monument: St. Pete Police
A man driving a minivan was accused of driving under the influence after losing control, hitting a man on Dali Blvd SE, St. Pete police said

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — A driver accused of driving a minivan under the influence hit a 37-year-old man who was putting down flags for a Grand Prix monument Wednesday night, according to a St. Petersburg Police Department news release.
Michael Aoun, 34, was speeding on Dali Boulevard SE from First Street South when he lost control of the van just after 8 p.m.
As he approached Bayshore Drive SE, Aoun crossed into two bicycle lanes before hitting a statue, a light pole and the victim, who was working in the median, police said.

The victim was brought to Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
Investigators determined Aoun was under the influence, police said. He was arrested and charged with driving under the influence causing serious injury and reckless driving causing bodily injury
