Early Voting Begins Saturday
Early Voting, Pinellas Bayway Closed, Domestic Partnership Registry, Eat More Chicken and Patch Newsletters are five things you need to know today.

1. Early voting for the Aug. 14 Primary Election in Pinellas County begins at 7 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 4 and runs through Saturday, Aug. 11. A state law last year changed the dates for early voting, which now begins 10 days prior to and ends three days prior to an election. The law affects all but five Florida counties, which are bound by a U.S. Department of Justice pre-clearance order and cannot implement the new law until it is pre-cleared by a federal court.
2. If you're a regular user of the Bayway, you'll need to change your commuting plans for most of the week. The city of St. Pete Beach just announced that the Bayway will be closed in the eastbound travel lanes today, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. The lanes will be closed all day, from 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
3. Beginning Wednesday, Aug. 1, adults who are in a domestic partnership relationship may register with the Office of the City Clerk. Official registration follows the passing of the Domestic Partnership Registry ordinance passed June 7.

4. Amid backlash from , a national rally is planned Wednesday in support of the fast-food chain. The day is organized by FOX news host and Former Governor Mike Huckabe. In Florida, Republican U.S. Senate Candidate Dave Weldon will have supporters at various Chick-fil-A restaurants handing out brochures stating his support for "traditional marriage".
