Autism Awareness Yogathon

The Esprit de Corps Youth Group at the Unitarian Universalsit Church of St. Petersburg will be hosting an Autism Awareness Yogathon to create awareness and raise pledges for Generation Rescue and Autism.

The event is FREE and  family friendly. Vandana Dillon, yoga instuctor and educator for the Youth Group, will be leading the Sun Saluations  (Yoga postures).    

There will be a Professional Recording Artist, Christine Ghezzo (www.ChristineGhezzo.com)  kicking off the event at 10am with a call and response Ganesha Chant (Remover of Obstacles) and a demonstration of a Modified Sun Salutation at 11:15am to Haris Lender's "Sun Saluation" song off her new Kidding Around Yoga cd (www.KiddingAroundYoga.com) which will be released June 9, 2011.

Also, an Autism Specialist will be on hand to answer questions from 11am - 12pm and litterature on Autism to educate our Community.

We will have a raffle for passes to Sunken Gardens (St Petersburg's Botanical Garden) as well as tickets to the Tea Dance at the Coliseum, Golden Plush Buddhas, kids and adult yoga classes,  gift certificates to Chucky Cheese and the soon-to-be released Kidding Around Yoga cd.

There will be fun activities like bracelet making with inspiring messages and paper sun creations and free gluten and casein-free snacks and beverages. And don't forget to bring your yoga mat and join the Esprit de Corps Youth Group for a few Sun Salutations! (Mats will be available for use too).
