North Shore Elementary is hosting a “Literacy Around the World Celebration” at the school on Thursday, April 28 from 6-7:30 p.m. Each grade level will showcase a country that they have been studying.
The evening begins in the classrooms. Using great literature from a variety of countries, teachers will show parents how to have book conversations that help increase reading comprehension.
At 6:30, everyone will adjourn to the cafeteria where the celebration continues with pizza, ice cream, and a special guest appearance by Tampa Bay Rays mascot, Raymond. Raymond will lead a reading pep rally and present a check to the 4th-grade winner of the North Shore PTA essay contest.
