Motorcyclist Killed In Roosevelt Blvd Crash: St. Pete Police
A motorcyclist died Tuesday morning after his motorcycle hit an SUV that tried to merge onto Roosevelt Boulevard, authorities said.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — A 21-year-old motorcyclist was killed on Tuesday morning after he crashed into a mini SUV that pulled in front of him on Roosevelt Boulevard, St. Pete police said.
Shortly after 6 a.m., the victim, Edwin Colon, drove a 2012 Suzuki motorcycle west on Roosevelt Boulevard when a Toyota Rav4 driven by Juan Valenci, 35, crossed in front of him as he merged from the Interstate 275 southbound exit, according to investigators.
Colon crashed into the driver side of the SUV, detectives said.

Another vehicle hit the motorcycle after the initial crash.
Colon died at the location of the crash, according to St. Petersburg Fire Rescue.

Police closed the Interstate-275 southbound off-ramp exit to Roosevelt Boulevard Tuesday morning due to a fatal crash involving a motorcyclist and two vehicles.
The St. Petersburg Police Department said the exit ramp will be closed for several hours as well as westbound traffic, and drivers should seek alternate routes.
