Five Things You Need to Know Today: Feb. 10

The City Council meets Thursday. And Bill Foster has his monthly Mayor's Night Out on Thursday evening.

1.) Robert Randolph and the Family Band: Tickets are still available for tonight's show at the State Theatre, 687 Central Ave. The group honors 100 years of African-American music. The Constellations are the opening act. Curtain time is 7 p.m. Tickets: $22. 727-895-3045.

2.) Arts Funding Committee meeting is at 11 a.m. in Room 100 at City Hall.

3.) City Council meeting gets under way at 3 p.m. A Mahaffey Theater Foundation update is on the agenda. Council meetings are open to the public and also can be viewed on cable access TV as well as via live streaming on your PC.

4.) "Unity Art" exibition to benefit the Class Acts arts education program is at the Mahaffey Theater, 400 1st St. S., from 6-9 p.m. Two-thirds of the purchase price of each work benefits Class Acts, which provides arts education to more than 30,000 K-12 students annually.  Purchases can be made on site or through The Manning Arts website at www.themanningarts.org.

5.)  Mayor's Night Out at North Branch Library, 861 70th Ave. North. Residents get a library tour and to talk with Mayor Bill Foster and city department heads. 7 p.m.
