Florida’s Most Stressed Cities Ranked
How do Florida cities compare with others across the country in regard to resident stress levels? A new study has the answers.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — The folks in St. Petersburg and Tampa are pretty relaxed compared to others, but residents of Miami are among the most stressed in the country. That’s according to a recent study that dove into national data to uncover the most- and least-stressed cities across the country.
“In the U.S., stress affects more than 100 million people,” WalletHub explained in its latest study report. One estimate shows that “workplace-related stress alone costs society more than $300 billion per year.”

Hoping to reveal the cities where Americans are better able to cope with stress-creating issues like money, work, family and relationships, WalletHub’s number crunchers looked at data related to 30 key metrics. The data included to devise the ranking included such points as average weekly work hours, suicide
rates and debt load, among others. Information was gathering from such sources as the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, TransUnion, the FBI and the Census Bureau.
When all the numbers were crunched, WalletHub deemed Newark, New Jersey, as America’s most stressed city. The top five was rounded out by Detroit, Michigan; Cleveland, Ohio; Jackson, Mississippi; and Miami.

According to WalletHub, Fremont, California, is America’s least-stressed city. Plano, Texas, came in second, or 149th on the list of 150.
While Miami was named among the country’s most-stressed cities, other Florida towns were pretty relaxed by comparison. Here’s how cities across the state ranked overall on the scale of 1 to 150. Remember, the lower the number, the higher WalletHub estimated resident stress.
