Fuel Spill Forcing Gandy Boulevard Lane Closing

St. Petersburg Police say a large fuel spill has forced the closing of some lanes on Gandy Boulevard.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — Motorists are being asked to avoid a stretch of Gandy Boulevard Tuesday following a large fuel spill. St. Petersburg Police say all eastbound lanes are closed between Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Street North and 2nd Street North.

The closing, authorities said just before 11:30 a.m. April 4, is expected to last two to three hours.

The police department is helping St. Petersburg Fire & Rescue with the closing. The fuel spill occurred just outside the city limits, the police department said.
