1. Kenny Loggins at the Rays

Are you a fan of the 80s? After Saturday's Tampa Bay Rays game against the San Diego Padres 80s music star Kenny Loggins will be performing as part of the Rays Summer Concert Series. Loggins is known for writing the hit theme songs for Caddyshack, Top Gun and Footloose. All Rays postgame concerts are free with the purchase of a game ticket. The game begins at 6:10 p.m.

2. Second Saturday Art Walk

The 2nd Saturday Art Walk / Gallery Walk is Saturday evening. Participating Galleries open their doors for extended hours on the second Saturday evening of every month. A full list of participating galleries can be found online. The walk is free and is from 6 - 9 p.m. 

3. Pet Pal's Puppy Love Fundraiser

Pet Pal Animal Shelter will host its largest fundraiser of the year, the 11th Annual Puppy Love Benefit, from 6 - 10 p.m., Saturday May 11 at the Hilton St. Petersburg Bayfront. The Puppy Love evening includes dinner, dancing and live entertainment by Screamin’ Donkey. A silent and live auction is also planned. All proceeds raised will directly benefit Pet Pal’s Animal Emergency Medical Fund.

4. The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee

American Stage Theater once again takes over Demens Landing for its annual theater in the park performances. This year, the award-winning theater will be presenting the Tony Award-winning, "The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee" through May 26. "Six young people in the throes of puberty, overseen by grown-ups who barely managed to escape childhood themselves, learn that winning isn't everything and that losing doesn't necessarily make you a loser. The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee is a hilarious tale of overachievers' angst chronicling the experience of six adolescent outsiders vying for the spelling championship of a lifetime." Tickets start at $13 and can be purchased online

5. Beethoven's Symphony No. 7 

Saturday at the Mahaffey Theater in downtown St. Petersburg, you have the opportunity to hear the sounds of Beethoven's Symphony No. 7. "Principal Flute Clay Ellerbroek brings to life the wonderfully joyous, playful and tuneful melodies of Liebermann’s Concerto for Flute and Orchestra on this concert with Mendelssohn’s The Hebrides (Fingal’s Cave) and Beethoven’s Symphony No," according to the Mahaffey. The show begins at 8 p.m. Saturday and tickets can be purchased online.
