Suspect Hit Cab Driver In The Face, Knocked Out His Teeth During A Robbery: Deputies
A St. Pete suspect who was already in the Pinellas County Jail on other charges faces additional charges connected to a string of robberies.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — A 21-year-old St. Petersburg man faces strong-armed robbery charges after detectives said he violently robbed three cab drivers in the city.
According to St. Pete police, Drajan N. Polite, used a hammer to hit the cab drivers in the head as he robbed them.
Investigators have accused him of robbery at the following locations:

- Sept. 6—Cab driver at 1963 16th Avenue South, St. Petersburg—Polite hit him in the head with a hammer, injuring him prior to the robbery at 1:15 a.m.
- Sept. 19—Robbed a cab driver at 2588 11th Ave. S., St. Petersburg—driver did not experience injuries during the 2:50 a.m. incident
- Oct. 3—Robbed a cab driver and hit him in the face with a hammer—caused injuries and knocked out his teeth.
Polite was already in jail on unrelated charges, officers said. He faces additional charges of aggravated battery, robbery with a weapon, strong-armed robbery and numerous violation of probation and failure to appear charges, a news release said.
