Pinellas Bayway Closing Extended

If you're a regular user of the Bayway, you'll need to change your commuting plans for most of the week.

The city of St. Pete Beach just announced that the Bayway will be closed in the eastbound travel lanes today, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. The lanes will be closed all day, from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Orion, a Florida Transportation Department controactor, had to increase the closure times to allow for concrete deliveries.

All emergency vehicles will be directed through the work zone, if needed during the detour, a news release said. All other vehicles will be detoured to Corey Causeway.

If weather delays delivereies, dates will be adjusted, with the public notified.
