Pinellas County Sheriff's Office Holds Graduation Ceremony for Recruits

The ceremony took place Thursday, Sept. 15.

Pinellas County Sheriff's Office's Department of Detention and Corrections held the graduation ceremony for its recruits on Sept. 15 at the St. Petersburg College Allstate Center. During the academy, the recruits completed a total of 456 hours training at the college. Assistant Chief Deputy Sean Jowell, with the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office, presented Sheriff's Office-sponsored recruits with their new badges and administered the Oath of Office to the group. The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office periodically offers full sponsorships through the Corrections Academy. If accepted for sponsorship, the Sheriff'sOffice will pay for your academy tuition, books and FDLE Certification exams. Applications for sponsorships are accepted when the "Detention Deputy Recruit"position is posted on the "Careers and Current Openings" page.
