UPDATE: Man Charged With Arson in Deadly St. Pete Fire
Investigators say Robert Scott Greaves, whose burned body was found Wednesday, was invited to the St. Petersburg home by Daniel Thomas Papaleo, who has been charged with arson in the case.

A man whose body was found in an arson fire at a St. Petersburg home died of blunt force trauma to his upper body prior to the Wednesday evening blaze, investigators said.
The man, identified as Robert Scott Greaves, 33, was apparently invited to the home sometime before the fire by Daniel Thomas Papaleo, who has been charged with arson in the case.

Greaves fathered a child with Papaleo's daughter, investigators said.
Papaleo remains hospitalized with a police guard, officials said Thursday afternoon. He has been charged with arson, but additional charges will depend on the outcome of the ongoing criminal investigation, according to a police spokesperson.

Investigators said they found an accelerant at the scene of the fire.

A man has been charged with arson in connection with what police are calling a suspicious fire at a St. Petersburg home that left another man dead Wednesday night.
Daniel Thomas Papaleo, 60, who lives at the home at 1030 13th St. N., is under police guard at a local hospital, where he is receiving medical treatment for injuries sustained in the fire, St. Petersburg Police spokesperson Bill Proffitt said. Papaleo, who is in stable condition, was found outside the scene of the fire Wednesday, Proffitt said.
The victim, whose body was badly burned, has not been identified yet, according to police. An autopsy was scheduled for later Thursday.
The investigation is ongoing.

A man was found dead inside a burning St. Petersburg home around 6:30 Wednesday night.
St. Petersburg Police and St. Petersburg Fire & Rescue say the unidentified man's death has been classified as suspicious.
Police said authorities responded to a call of a fire at 1030 13th St. N.
"Homicide and arson investigators are on the scene, but the situation is classified as a suspicious fire death at this time," said police spokesman Bill Proffitt in a news release.
The man has not been identified.
