Police Chase Ends in Four-Car Crash
St. Petersburg Police were pursuing a vehicle stolen from Treasure Island, when it crashed into cars at the intersection of Martin Luther King Jr. Street and 9th Avenue North.
A string of home burglaries and a stolen vehicle led to a high-speed chase Monday afternoon that ended in a major traffic accident at the intersection of MLK and 9th Avenue North.
Three people, whose vehicles were hit by the stolen car, were taken to the hospital with injuries, though none was a trauma alert.
Three suspects also were apprehened and arrested.

According to St. Petersburg Police, the high-speed chase started with a series of burglarly complaints Monday.
Police were called to three separate residential burglaries in the vicinity of the Allendale neighborhood in St. Petersburg.

A white Honda sedan with a tag later determined to be stolen out of Treasure Island was identified by witnesses as the suspect vehicle, police said.
Police said that at 12:47 p.m., Uniform Patrol units spotted the vehicle in the vicinity of 40th Avenue North and Haines Road.
Officers attempted to stop the car, but the suspects fled and a pursuit was authorized by a supervisor, police said.
The chase eventually made it on to 4th Street North, headed south, and then west bound on ancillary streets, where the vehicle ran through some barricades on the south side of Crescent Lake Park.
According to police, the suspect car then continued west making its away to the intersection of 9th Avenue North and MLK Street, where it collided with three vehicles, at about 12:51 p.m.
Three suspects fled the car, police said, and ran south but were apprehended by officers at various locations not far from the crash scene. One suspect reported what appeared to be minor injuries.
According to St. Petersburg Fire & Rescue, at least three occupants of the other vehicles involved in the crash were taken to the hospital, but none appeared to be trauma alerts at this time.
