Police: Stolen Guns Recovered

St. Petesburg Police Detectives have recovered two firearms that were stolen from an unmarked police car on Monday.

On Tuesday, St. Petersburg Police developed information that led to a stolen Colt AR-15 rifle and .45 calibur handgun, according to a press release.

Police say both firearms were stolen from a Detective's unmarked police vehicle Sunday night. The vehicle was also taken and abandoned in Lake Maggiore. A portable police radio is still missing, according to police.

According to Police Spokesperson Bill Proffitt, both firearms were located at separate locations in the city Tuesday night.
