PSTA Sets More Ridership Records
PSTA Ridership, GOP Speakers, Mayor's Night Out, Back to School Drive and Patch Newsletters are five things you need to know today.

1. The Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority set another monthly ridership record in July, according to a PSTA news release. That makes for the seventh monthly record dating back to November 2011. Last month the transit agency gave 1,205,256 rides, which is more than any other July in agency history and a 14% jump over July 2011.
2. On Wednesday, the Republican National Convention announced five more speakers for the upcoming GOP convention. Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi, Texas Republican U.S. Senate Nominee Ted Cruz, Puerto Rico Governor Luis Fortuño, Georgia Attorney General Sam Olens and Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker have been added to the bill.
3. Back to school is just around the corner and so is the return of ‘Mayor’s Night Out,’ in St. Petersburg. Residents are invited to share thoughts, ideas, or concerns one-on-one with Mayor Foster and city staff at Bay Vista Center, 7000 Fourth St. S. on Thursday, Aug. 9 at 6 p.m.

4. On Saturday head to St. Pete's waterfront for a charity fitness boot camp. At 9 a.m. Saturday at North Shore Park, Bay View Boot Camp is hosting a free charity boot camp event to raise much needed school supplies for kids in St. Pete. They are collecting pencils, notebook paper, scissors, backpacks, rulers, binders, folders, markers and crayons.
