Sexual Battery: Mom Catches Man Outside Teen Girl’s Bedroom Window

A St. Petersburg man faces felony charges after deputies say he sexually battered a 14-year-old girl.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — A St. Petersburg man faces sexual battery charges after Pinellas County deputies say a woman found him standing outside her 14-year-old daughter’s bedroom window Friday night.

According to the sheriff’s office, the woman called deputies Saturday, kicking off an investigation into alleged relations between Mark Reeves and the girl. That investigation revealed the teen and Reeves first met via Facebook in February 2016, an email from the sheriff’s office said.

“The victim informed detectives that Reeves maintained a relationship with her and had inappropriate sexual activity with her on multiple occasions,” an email from the sheriff’s office said. Their relationship allegedly took a sexual turn in September and ended when the mother discovered him outside her child’s room Friday.

Reeves, the email said, knew the girl was 14. He was arrested around 1:07 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 18 after investigators were “able to obtain evidence corroborating the victim’s statements,” the email said.

Authorities did not say what part of the county the victim lives in.
