Family Takes Man To Hospital After A Person Shot Him Near A St. Pete Bus Stop

St. Pete police looked for shell casings Tuesday on 18th Avenue South near Union Street following a shooting near a bus stop.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — St. Pete police investigated a Tuesday morning shooting near a bus stop at 18th Avenue South that injured a man.

A man was shot just before 11:25 a.m. near the intersection of 18th Avenue South and Union Street, Yolanda Fernandez, a police information officer, told Patch.

Investigators had 18th Avenue South eastbound closed from 21st Street South to 22nd Street for several hours. At one point, they also had all westbound lanes closed.

Friends of the victim took him to a nearby hospital. He experienced non-life threatening injuries.

No suspect has been arrested, detectives said.
