St. Pete Police Academy Offers 4-Day Officer Training To Teens

The Explorer Academy applications have opened to Pinellas County high schoolers who want to learn more about training police receive.

PINELLAS COUNTY, FL —Teenagers interested in learning more about a law enforcement career can receive training in The Explorer Academy offered by the St. Petersburg Police Department and other local jurisdictions in August.

Training is open to teens between ages 14-17. St. Petersburg - Allstate Center, 3200 34th Street South, St. Petersburg, will host the four-day training, August 2-6, 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

  • Courtroom testimony
  • Water survival
  • Basic investigations

Applications have opened, and the academy will have only 30 seats available. July 2 is the deadline for applications. Applicants must be enrolled in high school during the 2021-2022 school year.
