St. Pete Police Officer's Life Lost To COVID-19
A police procession was held Friday afternoon in front of the law enforcement headquarters that included doctors, nurses and deputies.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — Tampa Bay lost its third law enforcement member to COVID-19 this week with the death of a St. Petersburg police officer Friday.
Officer Michael Weiskopf, 52, passed away Friday morning at Bayfront Health from COVID-19 complications, St. Pete Police Department said. He began his law enforcement career in 2003 with the Traffic Section Crash Investigation Unit. He leaves behind a wife and extended family.
"It is with a heavy hearts that we share with you the news that St. Pete PD Officer Michael Weiskopf passed away this morning from complications related to COVID-19," St. Pete Police tweeted. "Please keep his loved ones & our police family in your thoughts & prayers as we grieve this great loss."

The Polk County Sheriff's Office lost Deputy Christopher Broadhead to COVID-19 Monday, and Deputy Douglas Clark with the Manatee County Sheriff's Office died of COVID-19 recently.
In St. Petersburg, a police procession escorted the officer's body from the hospital to Gross Funeral Home Friday at 1:45 p.m. Police along with doctors and nurses showed their respect as they lined First Avenue North in front of St. Pete Police Headquarters, 1301 First Avenue North. The flag was lowered as the procession passed.
