Jimmy’s Tacos to Expand into St. Pete

Mexican eatery Jimmy’s Tacos in Ybor City will expand with a second location in St. Petersburg, according to Creative Loafing.

Founded in Los Angeles, the brand moved to Tampa in 2018, initially operating at festivals and out of food trucks before opening a brick-and-mortar spot.

Its new location will open next year at 2536 Central Ave.

Pin on Cafe Moves into New Digs in Grand Central District

Pin on Cafe, an Asian-fusion restaurant, has relocated from the Edge District to reopen in a new larger space in the Grand Central District as Pin on Grand.

The new restaurant, offering Thai, Laotian and Vietnamese menu items, is at 2458 Central Ave., which previously housed Valhalla Bakery and Proper Meats.

The owners also operate Pin Wok & Bowl, which focuses on Thai and Japanese flavors, at 445 Central Ave.

Panamanian Coffee Brand To Open First U.S. Cafe, Shop In St. Pete

Savage Coffee, a family-operated coffee producer and roastery from Panama, will open its first U.S. boutique retail location next year in St. Petersburg.

The boutique coffee shop will open at the base of The Nolen, a 23-story luxury condo tower at 126 4th Ave. NE in downtown St. Pete, according to a news release.

‘90s-Themed Restaurant Opening on 4th Street N.

A ‘90s-themed restaurant will open its doors next month at 4351 4th Street N. in the space formerly occupied by Oaks on 4th.

Sunshine City Tavern is the latest concept from chef Ted Dorsey, according to a post to the restaurant’s Instagram page.

“Big things are cooking in St. Pete! Chef Ted Dorsey is bringing the 90s vibe back to life with Sunshine City Tavern — a celebration of great food, amazing atmosphere and everything we love about our city,” the post reads. “Construction is underway, and we’re gearing up for an epic January 2025 opening. Stay tuned for sneak peaks updates and more!”

Indian Restaurant Opens in Former Tropez Space Downtown

The owners of a Largo Indian restaurant, Taste of Punjab, is expanding into downtown St. Petersburg with a new eatery.

Malai Indian Cuisine took over the space formerly occupied by Tropez, which closed earlier this year, at 437 Central Ave., according to St. Pete Rising.

“We are focusing on delivering the highest quality, serving food on time and with the right pricing,” the owners said.

Studio Public House Adds Full Liquor Bar

The Studio Public House in the Grand Central District recently introduced a full liquor bar.

The British pub at 2950 Central Ave. previously only sold beer and wine.

A post to the restaurant’s Facebook page reads, “Come in for a cocktail (or two, or three!)”

Sweetgreen Opens in the Edge District

The chain Sweetgreen, which focuses on healthy salads and grain bowls, has opened its new Edge District location at 1114 Central Ave.

The made-to-order fast-casual eatery makes everything in house using produce delivered that morning, according to its website.

The company already has a presence in South Florida, as well as three locations in Tampa.
